Chiron places a technical figure inside the startup team with the responsibility of an internal member: taking part in product decisions, defining the architecture, leading development and answering directly for the technical results.

01

CTO as a service

Full technical leadership for startups without an internal figure yet: architecture, technology roadmap, stack decisions and direct responsibility for product choices. We work exclusively with your own team, raising their level as the product advances, with training on the job and, where needed, building or hiring the missing people together with you.

02

CTO and dedicated squad

Technical leadership alongside continuous development capacity, for those who have to build and not only decide. Beyond the CTO, our squad works as the internal team of the startup: this is not staff augmentation, it is sharper support because whoever builds it knows the product. The squad is sized on the actual workload and stays the same throughout.

03

Specialist support

Vertical expertise alongside a CTO already in place, on the areas the internal team does not cover: data pipelines, models, production infrastructure. It also applies when you simply need the service you asked for and nothing else: a defined scope, work delivered, no complications added.

The lead has a team behind them

The person embedded in your team stays the same for the whole collaboration and is never swapped out. Behind them, though, stands the whole Chiron roster, and that is where the difference lies: across data science, machine learning and production infrastructure there is no area of your product where we are left uncovered. The skills are already inside the company, so a technical question never becomes a wait for you or a search outside.

Collaborations we choose

We design relationships meant to consolidate over time, and we select projects accordingly: we weigh the maturity of the idea, the internal team willingness to work in an integrated way, and the fit between technical ambition and allocated resources, because those three factors determine whether a collaboration produces something durable. To date Chiron has worked with more than 70 organisations across startups and companies, spread over consulting, training and custom projects.

Networks such as Startupbootcamp, Lazio Innova and Start2Impact have relied on us for years as technical partners and mentors for the startups in their programmes, which brings us into contact with dozens of teams at every stage each year: that vantage point helps us recognise early which technical problems architecture can solve and which stem from a product decision still left open.

When it makes sense to talk

The right moment arrives when the cost of a dedicated CTO exceeds what the startup can carry while the technical complexity is already real, or when the product is too central to be handed to a software house that only knows it from the outside, or when data, models and infrastructure all need attention at once and rarely sit in one person.

The model assumes a continuous, structured technical commitment, so we work with startups that have closed a round or allocated a development budget. During idea validation, when the open questions are still about the market rather than the architecture, a collaboration of this kind would return less than it costs.

Every engagement includes a fee, optionally complemented by an equity share where the stage of the startup and the length of the collaboration make it coherent. Equity is complementary, never a substitute.
